Choosing the perfect bathroom vanity top can seem arduous, whether you have an undermount sink or an integrated sink. However, knowing a few key facts about all your options can get you started on the right foot when looking at discount vanity tops.

Popular Colors and Finishes for Bathroom Countertops

Trending colors and finishes for bathroom vanity tops, which are also known as bathroom countertops, come and go just like they do with many other decorating trends. For example, in 1950s mid-century houses, the trends included pink, peach, mint green, yellow, and baby blue ceramic or laminate.

Many colors are available today, but the most popular trending colors and finishes include shades of gray and solid white. Finishes and patterns include marble and quartz, solid patterns, and patterns with flakes or designs with veining.

At Seconds & Surplus, we offer a huge selection of discount vanity tops in all the most popular colors and finishes.

Stone Types and Materials

The 1950s saw plenty of bathroom vanity tops made of fiberglass, ceramic, and Formica’s new laminate material, which remained the trending solid surface-top material for decades.

Today, those are still around, along with other options. The most popular high-end option for quality bathroom vanity tops is a type of natural stone, such as marble and quartz.

Marble and quartz work well because they are dense and not prone to color fading, cracking, or chipping. They are also very flexible with colors and can require little maintenance.

Number of Sinks or Basins

One thing you will need to decide for your bathroom countertops ahead of time is the number of sinks or basins you have or will have. In general, larger bathrooms can accommodate double-sink vanities, but smaller bathrooms will typically only have room for single sinks. There are marble and quartz vanity tops available for any size, style, and number of sinks!

If you already have a vanity and sink that you absolutely love, you’ll need a vanity top to accommodate the handle and faucet holes you have. If you don’t already have a sink in mind, consider whether you will need an undermount sink or integrated sink to go with the bathroom vanity tops you are considering.

We have gorgeous vanity tops to suit single and dual sinks at discount prices that never sacrifice quality!

The Length and Size of Your New Discount Bathroom Vanity Top

Probably the biggest decision you’ll need to make regarding your vanity countertop is its size, namely, its length. If you have double sinks, of course, you’ll need a much longer quartz or marble vanity top than if you just have one sink. But there’s more to it than that, too.

In order to comfortably “fit” two sinks to your vanity top, experts suggest that you have at least 60” (five feet) of length space in your bathroom in the area in which it will be installed.

Other than that, you’ll want to measure your space twice, and don’t forget to account for door clearance! You need your vanity cabinets to open and close freely without hitting anything.

If you have the space and like the idea, when it comes to figuring out the ideal size for dual sinks, some people opt for two single-sink vanities instead of one dual-sink one. Generally, vanities are available in sizes that range from just 18” wide (or long) to 80” and larger. The most common sizes are 31”, 37”, 49”, and 61”.
